To further expand upon the hotel’s dedication to the art of performance and storytelling, Ship To Shore Productions teamed up with Chicago Athletic Association (CAA) to announce a new partnership with National Geographic as host hotel for their Nat Geo Live speaker series.

Each Nat Geo Live explorer takes up residence at CAA during their time in Chicago and hosts VIP events and experiences for guests. CAA welcomed their first explorer in December - world-renowned underwater photographer Brian Skerry. Check out Brian's interview with Ship To Shore Productions

Nat Geo Live will return to Chicago and CAA in 2016, for the following performances:

Cinematographer Bob Poole (Monday, March 21 & Tuesday, March 22): This show is about the rebirth of one of the world's great wildlife parks in Africa as told by Emmy award-winning cinematographer Bob Poole. Poole is introducing a new, six-part PBS/Nat Geo International series, documenting the rebirth of a lost Eden: Mozambique’s Gorongosa National Park, a jewel of Africa’s parks system until destroyed by civil war. Poole’s story is one of hope and renewal.

Photographer and Filmmaker Carsten Peter (Monday, April 4 & Tuesday, April 5): Photographer and Filmmaker Carsten Peter invites the audience on an electrifying journey into some of the planet’s most extreme environments through his film and photography. A fearless explorer and storyteller, Peter has made it his life’s work to capture and share dramatic, never-before seen images of places – the world’s deepest caves in Vietnam, the edge of an active volcano, inside an F-5 tornado – few humans have ever dared to go.
